In short: QR form content is processed in your browser and is not sent to NightNote. This policy also explains hosting, cookies, and data that may be involved if advertising is enabled.
1. Scope and controller
This policy applies to qr.nightnote.cn and its /zh/ Chinese pages. NightNote QR operates this website. Privacy questions may be sent to [email protected].
2. QR input content
Text, URLs, SSIDs, WiFi passwords, vCard details, email addresses, phone numbers, and messages that you enter are encoded locally by JavaScript in your browser. We do not receive, store, or sell these form entries. PNG and SVG files are also created locally. Information you deliberately send by email or through a third party is separate from this local process.
3. Technical logs and hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you request a page, Cloudflare may process technical logs such as IP address, user agent, request time, requested path, cache status, and security events to deliver content, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and protect the network. Our site code does not install a separate proprietary analytics tracker. Cloudflare's own privacy policy and service terms also apply.
4. Local storage and cookie choices
The site uses localStorage for light/dark theme (qr-theme), cookie choice (qr-cookie-choice), and choice date (qr-cookie-date). These keys do not contain QR content. You can clear site data in your browser or reopen Cookie settings in the footer. Rejecting non-essential cookies does not disable the tools.
5. Google AdSense and advertising cookies
Pages currently contain disabled AdSense placeholders. Google advertising can operate only after the site owner inserts a publisher ID and enables the script. Once enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, and ad-interaction data for delivery, personalization, frequency limits, measurement, and invalid-traffic prevention, depending on consent, Google settings, and your location.
For users in the EEA, UK, and other applicable regions, the operator should collect and transmit ad consent through a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) and configure AdSense Privacy & Messaging. The built-in banner stores a site preference and is not a substitute for a certified CMP. Where required, personalized advertising must not load without consent. You can manage choices through Google Ads Settings and the consent controls provided.
6. External services and post-scan activity
After scanning a URL or WhatsApp code, you leave this site and become subject to the destination's privacy policy. Email, phone, and SMS actions are handled by your device, app, and carrier. We do not receive those communications and cannot control subsequent third-party processing.
7. Retention and international processing
We maintain no database of QR form entries and therefore have no corresponding NightNote retention period. Technical-log and advertising-data retention depends on the relevant provider's configuration, legal obligations, and security needs. Global providers may process data in multiple countries under their contractual and legal transfer safeguards.
8. Your rights
Depending on local law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, obtain a copy, or complain to a regulator. Email [email protected] with the scope of your request. We may verify information connected to it to avoid disclosure to an unauthorized person. For data controlled solely by Google, Cloudflare, or another third party, you may need to contact that provider directly.
9. Children and security
The tools are for a general audience and are not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not request age or account information. Children should not encode private contact details or network passwords in public codes. Static hosting, HTTPS, and local processing reduce risk, but no website can promise absolute security.
